Resume/CV Tips

Your resume / CV is usually the first contact with a potential employer and as such is your best opportunity of gaining an interview.

Your resume should contain a summary of your work history, career, skill set and personal attributes.

Contents of your resume / CV should include the following information:

  • Personal details, like name, address, contact numbers and email address
  • Optional information like date of birth and marital status
  • Educational details
  • Training and qualifications including when, where, and what
  • Employment history including, Employer, dates, duration of employment, job title, key responsibilities and achievements
  • Personal profile
  • What type of position you are seeking
  • Your career goals
  • At least two referrals

Aim to keep your resume to 4 - 6 pages.

Use clear and precise language and set out clearly for ease of reading, use only relevant information and list information and work history chronologically.
