
IT Specialist and Storage

ITS deliver systems that support our client's activities with an environment that is reliable, predictable, stable and secure.
Our client's server and storage environment substantially based on HP equipment and Microsoft software products, which include:
Work as part of our client's ITS Infrastructure team to contribute to service delivery while supporting the practice of diversity in the workplace, ethical practice and occupational Health and Safety principles.
The IT Specialist (Servers and Storage)environment is substantially based on HP equipment and Microsoft software products. This role in conjunction with other ITS staff, is responsible for the installation, maintenance, enhancement, support and documentation for:
·Systems and infrastructural software including, but not limited to, a Microsoft environment, Exchange, Citrix, Systems Centre Operation Manager,
·Server provision(including high availability configurations such as clustering);
·Server virtualisation;
·Storage systems (including SAN and automated tape libraries);
·Archive, back-up and recovery systems; and
Use of the Enterprise Management tools such as Systems Centre Operations Manager, Altiris NS and DS and other tools to provide proactive support of the environment
Ability to use scripting technologies, such as Vbscript & Powershell
Liaise with external parties to manage installations, maintenance, enhancements and support work
Support the Services Team Leaders in maintaining the functionality, availability and operational efficiency of Austrade's corporate infrastructure systems (including those aspects relating to the Disaster Recovery Facility (DRF)
This position may require short notice domestic and international travel

Demonstrated experience with:
1. Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008, virtualization and other infrastructural software (such as Exchange, Citrix, Altiris, Storage Management, Back-ups and Recovery and Data Replication) 2. Scripting, and other techniques, to automate IT processes and procedures 3 Installation, commissioning, maintenance, enhancement, support and documentation for: · servers (including HP range of server and blades) · Various storage hierarchies including SAN. ATL and Optical 4. Ability to work cohesively in a small team environment 5 Experience with providing quality 2nd and 3rd level support in a customer service environment 6 Tertiary qualifications or applicable industry certifications or experience |
